Responsibilities
- Schedules staff, plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures, and ensures efficient work flow.
- Maintains quality and on-time delivery requirements, addresses production challenges, and communicates issues to relevant managers.
- Manages workflow with the production department, ensuring employees understand their responsibilities and delegated tasks.
- Partners with the manager to select and manage employees, recommend compensation, and suggest equipment upgrades, staffing adjustments, and process modifications.
- Communicates with the manager regarding schedules and backlogs, and assists with selection and performance management of employees.
- Monitors employee productivity, provides constructive feedback and coaching, and evaluates employee performance.
- Ensures employees are progressing on training plans to achieve higher levels of performance and production.
- Resolves issues within their departments and gives written and oral instructions.
- Follows departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and maintains timekeeping and attendance records for their groups using UKG.
- Issues corrective actions for employees who are not adhering to company policies (safety, attendance, etc).
- Evaluates employee performance and manages first-line employee relations.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Technical orientation with ability to learn new technologies and computer skills including MS Office.
- Team-oriented and collaborative, with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to handle conflicts and employee issues professionally.
- Must be able to write and speak English.
