Responsibilities
- Audits activities and develops punch lists of electrical/mechanical contractors during and at close out of installation; develops electrical/mechanical check lists for on-site installation progression and pre-volume testing phases
- Inspects electrical/mechanical installation to ensure that equipment and parts are complete and operational according to engineering plans
- Executes on-site checkout and testing after controls implementation in preparation for turnover to customer; ensures systems are fully functional and meet the description of operation
- Prepares and distributes daily site reports and other documentation during on-site execution
- Ensures on-going communication with the internal project team throughout commissioning
- Inspects and tests implementation of Programmable Logic Controllers to ensure automated equipment meets project scope requirements
- Short notice travel may be required when schedule or resources are required
- Travels up to 90%
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-5 years of material handling industry experience, preferably with distribution centers and warehouse automation
- Mechanical & electrical maintenance and/or installation experience a plus
- Basic knowledge of Allen-Bradley controls/controllers
- Basic working knowledge of CAD drawings, electrical schematics, or other engineering diagrams
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles of industrial automation
- Basic knowledge of safe industrial work practices including Lockout-Tagout and OSHA 10
- Basic problem-solving skills
- Basic Computer Skills – MS Teams, Word, Excel, Email, and Video Conferencing
- Basic administration skills (commissioning reports, timecards, and expense reports)
- Basic written and oral communication skills
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
- Team-oriented and collaborative
- Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Ability to work long (12 hour) shifts on construction sites
