Ilocano Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring an Ilocano Interpreter to work remotely. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render accurate interpretations of conversations between Ilocano and English speakers.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor during interpreting sessions.
• Stay calm and handle emotionally charged or stressful calls.
• Adapt to various industries' protocols and terminology.
• Show cultural sensitivity and work in a diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Ilocano and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive calls.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Adaptable to LLS technology enhancements.
• At least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and write requested languages preferred.
