Ilocano Interpreter

About the role

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring an Ilocano-English phone interpreter to work remotely from home. This is an independent contractor position and not eligible for employee benefits.

Responsibilities

• Handle interpreting sessions promptly and professionally.
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to established protocols.
• Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and remain calm during emergencies.
• Adapt to LLS technology enhancements to improve service delivery.
• Understand and follow protocol and terminology for various industries.
• Provide cultural sensitivity and handle sensitive topics with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Ilocano and English with cultural competency.
• Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills.
• Ability to remain detached and neutral during interpreting sessions.
• Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have access to a quiet space and a reliable internet connection.
• Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse for extended periods.

Pay
