About the role

LearnWell is seeking passionate and creative teachers to provide virtual tutoring support to middle and high school students who are temporarily out of school for medical or behavioral health reasons. Teachers will work remotely in a 1:1 and small group setting, guiding students through educational material and ensuring their academic success.

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual tutoring support to students in core K–12 subjects, with a focus on high school math and science.
• Act as an academic aide, guiding students through educational material and supporting their learning goals.
• Engage students in 1:1 and small group sessions to reinforce classroom learning and address individual academic needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• IL PEL LBS1 teaching license.
• Comfortable working with middle and high school students.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Understanding of subject matter relevant to student needs, especially in upper-level math and science.
• Reliable internet connection, working computer, and distraction-free workspace.

Schedule

• Position requires consistent availability Monday–Friday between 8:00 AM–10:00 PM EST.
• Minimum commitment of 12.5 hours per week.
• Preference given to candidates who can increase availability during peak season (November–early June).
• 100% remote role.

Pay

$28/hour, compensated for both instructional sessions and designated daily administrative time.
