About the Role
This position is hiring for multiple vacancies. This is a grant-funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.
Responsibilities
- Provide ELA and Math Remediation instruction
- Develop project-based learning clubs and activities that are culturally responsive and relevant to the needs and lived experiences of the community served
- Develop and implement social and emotional skill-building programs for youth
- Manage a cohort of education ambassadors (Rutgers undergraduate staff)
- Collect data for 21st CCLC reporting purposes
- Assist with student/family recruitment and retention
- Create and post social media content
- Plan and facilitate activities during family engagement nights
- Chaperone field trips
- Attend monthly professional development opportunities
Requirements
The incumbent must hold a valid New Jersey teaching certificate and have experience working with youth in an afterschool or summer program setting.
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience with culturally responsive teaching practices
- Experience with project-based learning
- Experience with social and emotional skill-building programs
- Experience with data collection and reporting
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Google Workspace are preferred.
