IGNITE- Afterschool Facilitators
About the role
Rutgers–Camden Ignite is a collaborative education program focused on the North Camden community. The program seeks experienced facilitators/coaches in various disciplines including Visual Art, Performing Arts, Civics, Dance, Music, STEM, Literacy, Health & Nutrition/Physical Education, SEL, etc. The incumbent will lead academic and social enrichment activities for youth in afterschool and summer programs serving 3rd-8th graders in North and East Camden.
The position involves responsibilities such as leading enrichment activities, assisting with student/family recruitment, retention, evaluations, reporting, social media management, planning activities for family engagement nights, chaperoning field trips, and attending monthly professional development sessions. This is a grant-funded position contingent upon available funding.
Responsibilities
- Lead academic and social enrichment activities for youth in afterschool and summer programs
- Aid in student/family recruitment and retention
- Conduct evaluations and prepare reports
- Create and manage social media content
- Plan and execute activities for family engagement nights
- Chaperone field trips
- Attend monthly professional development sessions
Requirements
This is a grant-funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.
Qualifications
Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience in their area of expertise. Experience working with youth in an educational setting is preferred. Knowledge of Positive Discipline practices and SEL activities is preferred.
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms is required. Ability to work independently and as part of a team is necessary.
