PHI Air Medical operates under CAMTS guidelines for Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations. The position involves Captain duties on EC145 SPIFR/NVG aircraft with instrument rating required, and 24-hour operations on a day/night rotation. If the successful applicant requires aircraft transition, a 1-year minimum service requirement applies. A relocation package is available, with a 2-year minimum service requirement if utilized. Off-duty housing is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
  • Support Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns.
  • Work with both internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and adhere to PHI Air Medical policies.
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of patients and equipment, including some lifting.

Requirements

  • Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
  • First Class Medical certification.
  • 2,000 total flight hours.
  • 1,500 hours in helicopters.
  • 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • 500 hours in turbine helicopters.
  • 100 hours in unaided night operations or 50 hours unaided and 100 hours Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
  • 100 hours of instrument time (actual & hood).
  • Must meet and maintain the company’s flight personnel weight restriction policy (235 lbs or less).
  • Must pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment, lift 100 pounds), drug screening, and background screen.
  • Interview and acceptance by customer/PHI management.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, both internal and external.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule

7 days on, 7 days off. The base changes schedules on a specific day of the week, and schedule changes may be required.
