IFR Pilot

About the Role

PHI Air Medical (operating under CAMTS guidelines) is seeking skilled helicopter pilots for Helicopter Air Ambulance (HAA) operations. This role involves flying an EC135 SPIFR/NVG aircraft with instrument rating in 24-hour day/night rotation. If the successful applicant requires aircraft transition, a 1-year minimum service requirement applies. A relocation package is available, with a 2-year minimum service requirement if utilized. Off-duty housing is provided.

Successful applicants will participate in community outreach programs, adhere to PHI Air Medical policies, assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment (some lifting required), and perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM). You will support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety campaigns while working with internal and external customers to provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service.

Responsibilities

• Perform line pilot duties in accordance with the General Operations Manual (GOM).
• Support the Safety Management System, Destination Zero, and other company safety initiatives.
• Provide safe, efficient, courteous, and reliable service to internal and external customers.
• Assist in loading and unloading patients and equipment, including lifting up to 100 pounds.
• Participate in community outreach programs.
• Adhere to PHI Air Medical policies and operational guidelines.

Requirements

• Commercial and Instrument Helicopter Ratings.
• First Class Medical certification.
• 2,000 total flight hours, including:
  • 1,500 hours in helicopters.
  • 1,000 hours as Pilot in Command (PIC) in helicopters.
  • 500 hours in turbine helicopters.
  • 100 hours in unaided night operations OR 50 hours unaided and 100 hours with Night Vision Goggles (NVG).
  • 75 hours of instrument time (actual & hood).
• Must meet and maintain the company’s flight personnel weight restriction policy (235 lbs or less).
• Strong communication and customer service skills, both internal and external.
• Must pass pre-placement physical exam, including functional capacity exam (strength and flexibility assessment), drug screening, and background screen.
• Interview and acceptance by customer/PHI management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Schedule

7 days on, 7 days off (7&7). The base changes schedules on a specific day of the week, and schedule changes may be required.
