IF1 Floor Person SS DAY SHIFT

About the Role

Ensures product is promptly removed from all floor areas, keeping floor and drains clear of condemned product according to USDA, OSHA, and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Locate and promptly remove condemned products near major walkways, drains, and standing water.
• Deliver condemned product to the designated container.
• Clean floors using a hand-held water broom as required.
• Monitor and maintain the free flow of all drains in the production area.
• Participate as a member of the team, including ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attend appropriate team meetings.
• Foster strong team cohesiveness on major issues such as direction, annual plan, budget, and policy changes.
• Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the team leader’s attention and working toward resolution.
• Reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies).
• Understand the role in supporting these systems and communicate concerns or improvement ideas.
• Perform other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Physical Activities

• Occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling.
• Frequent twisting of the neck and waist, kneeling, simple grasping.
• Lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Constant walking and standing, bending at the neck and waist, squatting.
• Fine manipulation/feeling with the hands, reaching below shoulder level.
• Repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands.
• Use of vision.
• Ability to efficiently work in a plant environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Standard waterproof gloves, sleeves, and hearing protection.

Industry Experience

Working knowledge of a processing facility.
