ICut Floor Person (Day Shift)

Responsibilities

• Locate and promptly remove condemned products from major walkways, drains, and areas with standing water.
• Deliver condemned product to the designated container.
• Clean floors using a hand-held water broom as required.
• Monitor and maintain the free flow of all drains in the production area.
• Participate as a team member in ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies.
• Coordinate work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
• Attend team meetings and foster strong cohesiveness on major issues (e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes).
• Identify and address areas lacking cohesiveness, bringing them to the team leader’s attention and working collaboratively to resolve issues.
• Reinforce actions needed to achieve synergy within the larger organization.
• Maintain familiarity with Simmons’ operating systems (e.g., quality, security, company policies) and understand the role in supporting these systems.
• Communicate concerns and improvement ideas related to operating systems.
• Perform other duties as necessary to support business objectives.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional stair and ladder climbing, pushing/pulling.
• Frequent twisting of the neck and waist, kneeling, simple grasping, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Constant walking and standing, bending at the neck and waist, squatting, fine manipulation/feeling with the hands.
• Reaching below shoulder level, repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands, use of vision.
• Ability to work efficiently in a plant environment.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

• Standard waterproof gloves and sleeves.
• Hearing protection.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of a processing facility.
• Military experience valued; veterans are welcome to apply.
