ICW Family Preservation Social Worker

Location: White Earth | Open: 10/20/25 | Closes: Until Filled | Pay: $32.52 per hour or DOQ | Full-time position with full benefits.

About the Role

The White Earth Reservation Tribal Council is seeking a qualified Family Preservation Social Worker to provide intervention and prevention services to families involved in or at risk of child welfare issues. This role focuses on avoiding out-of-home placements or Tribal CHIPS cases in court while supporting families through voluntary services.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic child welfare intervention and crisis intervention services to families experiencing child protection issues.
• Create and monitor case plans to address family needs, including referrals to service providers.
• Track and report family compliance and progress to social workers and courts.
• Attend court hearings with families as a support.
• Deliver prevention services to families at risk of child protection involvement under Indian Child Welfare.
• Identify at-risk families, establish working relationships, and offer voluntary services.
• Generate professional reports documenting family progress on case plans.
• Manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Human Services, or related field.
• Two (2) years of experience in the Child Welfare field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance for travel between sites.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.

Skills & Knowledge

• Knowledge of child protection laws and their application to individual cases.
• Familiarity with service providers and ability to make appropriate referrals.
• Understanding of Federal IV-E rules and procedures.
• Knowledge of Indian child-rearing practices and their application to cases.
• Proficiency in personal computer operation and related software for documentation.
• Ability to identify family needs and match them with available resources.

Pay

$32.52 per hour (or determined upon qualifications).
