About the role

DoveLewis Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Hospital is seeking full-time Certified Veterinary Technicians to join our ICU team on the overnight shift. Utilize your license to its fullest potential and grow your career with regular CE opportunities and VTS pathway support. Work with Criticalists 7 days a week in a VECCS Level 1 hospital to provide advanced treatments like continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), total plasma exchange (TPE), Hi-Flo oxygen therapy, critical care ventilation, and more.

As part of the DoveLewis ICU team, you will support high-acuity hospitalized patients, manage advanced cases under the supervision of board-certified Criticalists, and collaboratively provide interventions and treatments to patients across a wide range of specialties.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist with advanced critical care treatments like CRRT, TPE, Hi-Flo oxygen therapy, and critical care ventilator management under the supervision of board-certified Criticalists.
  • Collaborate across multiple specialties, including ECC, Neurology, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Exotics, Hospice, Pain Management, Urgent Care, and Diagnostic Imaging.
  • Support high-acuity hospitalized patients with advanced nursing skills (e.g., CRI calculations, NG tubes, extended differentials, and central lines).

Requirements

  • Current status as a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or other form of credentialed veterinary nurse or technician with the ability to transfer license to Oregon.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience; 3+ years of ECC or 5+ years total experience preferred.
  • Strong advanced nursing skills (e.g., CRI calculations, NG tubes, extended differentials, and central lines).
  • Adaptable, lifelong learners eager to face new challenges in a teaching hospital culture.

Pay

  • $32–$36 hourly for Certified Veterinary Technicians (or other license type transferable to Oregon).
  • $38–$44 hourly for Veterinary Technician Specialists.
  • +15% overnight differential pay and +10–15% weekend differential pay on applicable shifts.
  • $10,000 overnight bonus available every 6 months for qualified candidates (must work overnight ICU shifts with at least 3 years of ECC or 5 years total experience and strong advanced nursing skills).

Schedule

This is a full-time overnight position with a 3/4 rotating schedule and 10-hour shifts, providing a consistent schedule for work-life balance.
