ICU Veterinary Technicians / Assistants (1st & 2nd Shift Sign-On Bonus!)

CARE | Charlotte Animal Referral & Emergency is an independently, woman-owned 24-hour Emergency and Specialty Referral Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Advanced diagnostic services include ultrasonography, echocardiography, electroencephalography, endoscopy, rapid-scan CT imaging, high field MRI, and cardio cath lab.

Shifts Available

- 1st shift ICU: 6am to 4pm - Work 5 days/ off 5 days, then work 2 days, off 2 days - 2nd shift ICU: 2pm to 12am - Work 5 days/ off 5 days, then work 2 days, off 2 days - $2/shift differential applies - All schedules offered are full-time and overtime is available. - Some holidays and weekends may be required due to the 24/7 nature of the hospital.

Requirements

- High school degree or equivalent - Minimum of 2 years of veterinary technician experience is required - RVT preferred but not required - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted - Emotionally intelligent - Critical thinking skills - Able to safely restrain patients for extended periods of time - Proficient with technology including electronic medical record systems, automated lab analyzers, digital radiology

Responsibilities

- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of care - Provide advanced nursing care to patients with compassion - Perform venipuncture: jugular, cephalic, saphenous - Place IV catheters - Conduct automated and manual laboratory analyses - Perform digital radiology - Triage patients and anticipate veterinarian's needs to maintain workflow - Induce anesthesia, perform endotracheal intubation, and monitor anesthesia - Provide compassionate customer service to clients - Perform medical calculations
