About the role
Providing per diem hospital coverage in Halifax, VA.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality acute-care nursing in hospital settings
- Assess, monitor, and document patient conditions and responses to treatment
- Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and operate specialized equipment
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Follow infection control policies and patient safety standards
- Educate patients and families about care and discharge instructions
- Demonstrate professionalism and adaptability in dynamic environments
Qualifications & Skills
- Active Virginia RN license
- At least one year of recent ICU or Telemetry experience within the past two years
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association
- Recent QuantiFERON-TB Gold test (within 12 months)
- COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
Key Duties
- Providing patient monitoring, medication administration, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and patient education, with flexibility in scheduling shifts including day and night options
