ICT Engineer, Colo Regional Engineering - AMER
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure customers have continual access to innovation. This role collaborates with software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, and operations managers to maintain safety, security, and capacity at the lowest possible cost.
About the role
As an ICT Colo Regional Engineer, you will join a global engineering team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers. This team designs critical communications pathways connecting hardware inside AWS data centers. You will innovate ICT component delivery, support speed to market, and drive professional growth through continuous learning.
You will work directly with engineers and managers to develop physical layer connectivity solutions, provide pathway and cabling designs for construction and permitting, and collaborate with suppliers to recommend new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
- Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and shorten installation time.
- Travel 40%+ to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission-critical facilities, including data centers, power generation, or oil and gas.
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
- Experience in commissioning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with regional building codes and regulations.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Pay
- USA, AZ, Tempe: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, CA, Mountain View: $134,300 – $185,000 USD annually.
- USA, CO, Denver: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, GA, Atlanta: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, NC, Raleigh: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, OH, Columbus: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
