ICT Engineer, Colo Regional Engineering - AMER
About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. As an ICT Colo Regional Engineer, you will join a global engineering team of Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers focused on rethinking the design of critical communications pathways that connect hardware inside AWS data centers. You will collaborate with engineers and managers across AWS to develop connectivity solutions for the physical layer, provide pathway and cabling designs for construction and permitting, and work with industry suppliers to develop product requirements and recommend new technologies.

Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
- Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and shorten installation time.
- Travel 40%+ to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
- Experience in commissioning mission-critical facilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with regional building codes and regulations.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Pay
- USA, AZ, Tempe: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, CA, Mountain View: $134,300 – $185,000 USD annually.
- USA, CO, Denver: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, GA, Atlanta: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, NC, Raleigh: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, OH, Columbus: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, TX, Austin: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, TX, Dallas: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, VA, Herndon: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
- USA, WA, Seattle: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually.
Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
