About the role
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
As an ICT Colo Regional Engineer, you will be part of a global engineering team focused on rethinking the design of critical communications pathways that connect hardware inside AWS’ data centers. You will work directly with engineers and managers to develop connectivity solutions for the physical layer, provide pathway and cabling designs, and collaborate with industry suppliers to recommend new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
- Review and approve ICT pathway, cable, and equipment submittals.
- Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
- Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost, and shorten installation time.
- Travel 40%+ to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS data centers.
Requirements
- 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering experience in mission-critical facilities (e.g., data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).
- 4+ years of commissioning experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment and facilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer License.
- Experience with regional building codes and regulations.
- Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and deployment or mass production.

Pay
- USA, AZ, Tempe: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, CA, Mountain View: $134,300 – $185,000 USD annually
- USA, CO, Denver: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, GA, Atlanta: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, NC, Raleigh: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, OH, Columbus: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, TX, Austin: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, TX, Dallas: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, VA, Herndon: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
- USA, WA, Seattle: $116,800 – $160,000 USD annually
Your package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.
