About the role

The Solderer assembles products in accordance with established standards, supporting the Operations function in a variety of cable assembly tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Solder pins and connectors using resistance soldering units and solder irons following production guidelines.
  • Perform cable assembly tasks including cutting, prepping, wire stripping, crimping, tie-wrapping, winding, coax and ribbon cable handling, potting, plugging, closing, labeling, and molding.
  • Read and interpret drawings, pick lists, and bills of material.
  • Use measuring tools for assembly and inspection.
  • Troubleshoot, rework, and repair components using hand tools and equipment.
  • Work with various cable types, including temperature-sensitive dielectric, ESD components, and aluminum-jacketed cable.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Notify management of product discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, scrap, quality issues, or part shortages.
  • Adhere to company policies and safety regulations, including wearing personal protective equipment.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Soldering experience is required; resistance soldering, through-hole, and solder cup experience is a plus.
  • Cable and wire harness fabrication experience is highly desirable.
  • Micro soldering experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while maintaining quality standards and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to interpret assembly drawings and follow verbal/written work instructions to produce high-quality products within allotted time frames.
  • Strong communication skills to report production and quality status/issues to managers, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Willingness to float and perform work assignments in other departments as needed.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to move frequently between sitting, walking, and standing.
  • Near vision: ability to see details at close range (within a few feet).
  • Finger dexterity: ability to make precise, coordinated movements to manipulate or assemble very small objects.
  • Manual dexterity: ability to quickly move hands, arms, or both to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
  • Able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Pay

$21.00 per hour

Schedule

  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime as needed
  • Weekends as needed
