About the role

The Ice Technician is responsible for the ice rink, proper safe operation of the ice resurfacer (Zamboni), and maintenance of all areas of the facility. The role reports to the Director of Ice Rink and pays an hourly rate of $16.00. For part-time roles, benefits include a 401(k) savings plan and matching.

Responsibilities

• Learn to maintain the rink ice, including operating the ice resurfacing machine (Zamboni), ice rink edger, and other ice rink tools and applications.
• Maintain cleanliness and optimal operation of the facility, including cleaning and locking down locker rooms, restroom facilities, and ensuring arena lobbies are presentable.
• Show excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the manager.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.

• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, co-workers, management staff, and guests.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working a flexible schedule and extended hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Basic understanding or willingness to learn hockey rules and regulations.
• Proven ability to work well with all levels of management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
