Ice Crew | Part-Time | Mullett Arena

Position Summary

Oak View Group is hiring an Ice Crew member at the new 5,000 seat multi-purpose arena and community ice rink on the campus of Arizona State University. The position supports ice operations for ASU Sun Devil Men’s Ice Hockey, wrestling, G League basketball, and various events.

Responsibilities

• Prep and organize game day tools
• Cleaning of hockey shielding
• Maintaining dasher boards
• Cleaning and prepping game nets
• Prepping and maintaining ice resurfacer
• Participate in all aspects of the preparation for ice events
• Maintain and clean all applicable tools and storage areas
• Ensure a safe environment for all staff and guests
• Inspect ice and surrounding areas for any damage or broken parts
• Aid in Ice install and Ice out
• Aid Head Ice Technician with any relevant projects
• Ability to lift and maneuver goal frames
• General knowledge of use of power tools
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in the field, Sports/Entertainment/Hospitality venues preferred
• Proven ability to work as a team and work well with others
• Knowledge of the process of logo install and removal with regards to paint or textile
• Strong ice skating ability
• Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required
• Knowledge of budget preparation and control
• Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid CPR certificate
• Proficient knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office software
• Operate standard office equipment including printer, copier, computer and fax machine
• Written/Oral communications - ability to speak and write clearly and concisely, get messages across that have the desired effect
• Ability to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required
