ICE CREW MEMBER

About the role

Bloomington Bison, ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers, are seeking part-time Ice Crew Members to join a fun, fast-paced, and exciting professional sports environment.

Responsibilities

• Shovel snow during media timeouts and after periods on and off the ice
• Assist in the execution of in-game promotions, including setting up rugs and runners for anthem singers, special promotions, intermission activities, and youth hockey games
• Maintain ECHL ice requirements and maintenance during gameplay
• Assist Grossinger Motors Arena staff with removing and placing goals
• Deliver a high level of service to both internal and external customers
• Maintain a professional attitude and appearance
• Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned that are part of the game presentation
• Participate in occasional on-ice t-shirt tosses

Requirements

• Must be a proficient ice skater; hockey experience strongly preferred (applicants who cannot skate will not be considered)
• Ability to lift at least 30 pounds at a time
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to function in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and meet ECHL timing rules for pre-game, timeouts, and intermissions
• Knowledge of Bison game operations timing and events schedule for each game
• Knowledge of Grossinger Motors Arena ice rink rules
• General knowledge of ice rink maintenance and repair
• Available evenings, weekends, and/or holidays for games or events
• Available for the majority of the 36 home games for the 2025-26 season
• High energy and ability to remain focused on goals while working independently

Schedule

• Typical shift: 6:00 PM – 9:30 PM on game nights, or 3:00 PM – 6:30 PM for select events

Pay

$50 per game.
