IBM Technology Expert Labs Solution Architect – Storage

About the Role

IBM Technology Expert Labs is seeking an IBM Storage Solution Architect with expertise in IBM storage technology and products such as FlashSystem, ESS/Scale, DS8000, TS7700, Protect, Fusion HCI, and Red Hat OpenShift and Ceph.

The Solution Architect will collaborate with clients, business partners, and sellers to understand client requirements, conduct discovery activities, and define and create services solutions to address client needs. You will utilize in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology alongside industry and business skills to influence clients.

This role involves building project scopes with activities, assumptions, and effort estimates, creating client-facing proposal content, and developing detailed work breakdown structures. You will work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects with various sellers and clients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, business partners, and sellers to understand and analyze client storage requirements.
• Conduct discovery activities to define and create tailored storage solutions using IBM’s Storage Portfolio.
• Design and implement optimized storage solutions leveraging IBM products such as FlashSystem, ESS/Scale, DS8000, TS7700, Protect, Fusion HCI, and Red Hat OpenShift/Ceph.
• Optimize the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of storage products for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Develop project scopes, including activities, assumptions, and level-of-effort estimates.
• Create client-facing proposal content and detailed work breakdown structures.
• Deliver world-class technical services to clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Experience with IBM’s Storage Portfolio products, including Storage Ceph System, Fusion HCI, Storage Defender System, Storage Discover, and related products.
• Ability to design and implement storage solutions that meet clients' specific needs.
• Experience in optimizing storage product configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis.
• Proven ability to analyze client storage requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Experience delivering technical services in a client-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree.
• Experience with storage virtualization technologies, including Storage Virtualize, and ability to design and implement optimized storage virtualization solutions.
• Familiarity with Cloud Object Storage and ability to integrate it with IBM’s Storage Portfolio products.
• Experience with tape storage solutions, including Linear Tape-Open (LTO) and Tape as a Service, with ability to optimize their configuration and deployment.
