IBM Technology Expert Labs Solution Architect – Storage

About the Role

IBM Technology Expert Labs is seeking an IBM Storage Solution Architect with expertise in IBM storage technology and products such as FlashSystem, ESS/Scale, DS8000, TS7700, Protect, Fusion HCI, and Red Hat OpenShift and Ceph. In this role, you will collaborate with clients, business partners, and sellers to understand client requirements and conduct discovery activities to define and create services solutions addressing client needs.

You will leverage in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technology, combined with industry and business skills, to influence clients. Responsibilities include building project scopes with activities, assumptions, and effort estimates, creating client-facing proposal content, and developing detailed work breakdown structures. This is a fast-paced environment involving multiple projects, sellers, and clients.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, business partners, and sellers to understand and analyze client storage requirements.
• Conduct discovery activities to define and create tailored storage solutions using IBM’s Storage Portfolio.
• Design and implement optimized storage solutions leveraging IBM storage products and technologies.
• Optimize the configuration, deployment, adoption, usage, and analysis of storage products for maximum efficiency and performance.
• Develop project scopes, including activities, assumptions, and level-of-effort estimates.
• Create client-facing proposal content and detailed work breakdown structures.
• Deliver world-class technical services to clients, ensuring high-quality delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Expertise in IBM’s Storage Portfolio products, including Storage Ceph System, Fusion HCI, Storage Defender System, Storage Discover, and related products.
• Experience designing and implementing storage solutions tailored to client-specific needs.
• Experience optimizing storage product configurations, deployments, and usage for performance and efficiency.
• Ability to analyze client storage requirements and develop tailored solutions.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality technical services in a client-facing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with storage virtualization technologies, including Storage Virtualize, and ability to design and implement optimized virtualization solutions.
• Familiarity with Cloud Object Storage and its integration with IBM’s Storage Portfolio.
• Experience with tape storage solutions, including Linear Tape-Open (LTO) and Tape as a Service, with optimization expertise.
• Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
