About the role

The Information Services (IS) Systems Technician performs installation, maintenance, repair, and wiring of workstations, peripherals, telecommunications, and general technology-related equipment. This position provides on-site support, including analysis, diagnosis, and solutions for hardware and software problems, utilizing problem-solving tactics to implement corrective solutions. Travel to remote locations for support purposes may be required.

Pay

$24.88–$30.48 per hour, with the ability to go higher for highly experienced candidates.

Responsibilities

  • Provides front-line support of technology to staff, including setup, configuration, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of computers, phones, printers, video conferencing, and other technical equipment
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and resolves computer equipment malfunctions and software problems on workstations
  • Resolves problems with peripherals such as phones, printers, keyboards, and integrated hardware
  • Assists users with technical problems and partners with them to find alternative or temporary solutions when immediate needs cannot be met
  • Maintains detailed documentation for equipment inventory and software installation/maintenance
  • Actively participates in the department’s strategic planning process
  • Travels long distances by automobile to remote locations for support of YVFWC sites as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) required; certificate of completion from a vocational or technical school preferred
  • Two years of work experience providing technological or desktop support preferred
  • Valid Driver’s License and proof of automobile liability insurance coverage
