Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize Instrumentation and Electrical systems, including Automation systems (PIT, LIT, TIT, FIT, LSHH, MOV; voltages from 12VDC to 480VAC; PLCs: Allen Bradley, ROC, Micro Comms, HMIs)
• Collaborate with Operators, Automation, SCADA, and IT teams to repair and maintain systems
• Assist with construction, pipeline startups, electrical contractors, and small automation projects
• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on SWD, pipeline, and WTS start-up equipment
• Oversee contractors, automation projects, and equipment installations
• Identify and report potential field issues proactively
• Install field cameras and monitoring systems
• Provide remote and on-site support for Instrumentation, Electrical, and Automation systems
• Maintain accurate records in FIIX, Teams, and other reporting systems
• Conduct routine site/equipment inspections and document findings in FIIX
• Ensure regulatory compliance, safety standards adherence, and serve as an operational liaison for site safety

Advanced Responsibilities (Tech II & III)

• Lead site inspections, PLC upgrades, and electrical repairs
• Optimize automation equipment and improve operational efficiency
• Train and mentor junior technicians, operators, and pumpers
• Oversee SWD and WTS site monitoring

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school or 2-year degree preferred
• 1-3+ years of industrial field electrician experience with troubleshooting & installation per NEC and state standards
• Experience with automation, plant SCADA, and Wonderware (or comparable programs)
• Valid driver’s license & clean driving record

Working Conditions

This is a hands-on, physically demanding role requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions around industrial equipment. Tasks include:

• Climbing ladders, crawling, crouching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
• Regularly lifting up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs
• Walking long distances and entering confined spaces
• Operating a company vehicle for at least 70% of the time
• Exposure to extreme weather (heat, cold, wind, rain), high-pressure pipelines, hazardous chemicals, flammable products, high noise levels, and adverse driving conditions
• Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and emergency call-outs
• Frequent use of computers and monitoring systems for tracking and reporting

Schedule

14 days on / 14 days off rotational schedule with company-provided housing during work rotations.
