I&E Supervisor
Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is seeking an I&E Supervisor for the SACROC CO2 Gas Processing Plant in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the plant, including Instrumentation and Electrical systems. The SACROC Gas Processing Plant employs processes such as over 300,000Hp of compression, gas dehydration facilities, NGL Recovery facilities, and CO2 membranes, and is a PSM Facility. Secondary responsibilities may include assisting with instrumentation and electrical systems at the Snyder Gas Plant and SACROC Power Plant.
About the Role
The I&E Supervisor will oversee all Automation, Instrumentation, and Electrical activities within the plant facilities, including direct supervision of company I&E and SCADA Support Technicians, and various contractors.
Responsibilities
- Drive improvements in Process Safety Management program, Preventative Maintenance program, employee development, efficient operations, and equipment reliability.
- Provide technical leadership to the I&E group.
- Prepare reliability plans for critical Electrical/Power/Instrumentation/SCADA systems.
- Oversee Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and Critical repair activities.
- Support operations to minimize plant downtime.
- Promote ideas for safer, more efficient, and cost-effective operations while ensuring costs align with budgetary constraints.
- Collaborate with process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.
- Assist in preparing annual operating budgets, monitor budgetary performance, and report to the Operations Manager.
- Manage budgeting, cost tracking, and expenditure reporting for the I&E team.
Requirements
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to KM’s insurer.
- Ability to work with a team, take direction from management, maintain required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.
- Knowledge of low and medium voltage electrical systems up to 12470V, including switchgears, motor starters, and VFDs.
- Knowledge of PLC programming, SCADA systems, and iFix.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of various instrumentation and end devices, including psi and temp transmitters, valve positioners, and level switches.
- Knowledge of synchronous motors up to 10,000hp and induction motors up to 2,000hp.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Experience with budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Experience with Maximo or other Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
- Experience and knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable Engineering or Technology discipline.
Working Conditions
- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, during daylight and darkness.
- Required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, and reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Plant vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases, which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
- Must participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and be on-site within 45 minutes of callouts.
- Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend.
