About the role
At Williams, we're transforming how energy powers the future through exciting data center projects. Join us as an Operations Technician to maintain and optimize our facilities' electrical and control systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical and instrumentation systems, including switchgear, motor controls, control loops, PLCs (Allen Bradley), and both AC/DC systems.
- Ensure safe and reliable operations by identifying root causes of equipment issues and implementing corrective actions to reduce downtime.
- Maintain and repair process control systems to support efficient plant operations.
- Collaborate with project teams to define scope and instrumentation specifications for new installations and upgrades.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Willingness to work shifts, overtime, and travel between locations
- Ability to work in extreme conditions and elevated areas with PPES
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety and operational excellence
Qualifications
- Required: High School Diploma or GED, Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record, Ability to work in extreme conditions and elevated areas with PPES, Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, Commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Preferred: 2+ years of related experience, preferably in oil & gas for Technician II; 3+ years of technician experience, preferably in oil & gas for Technician III; 6+ years of experience with similar equipment or facilities; Associate degree preferred for Technician Sr
Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC applications
- Familiarity with Process Control Systems and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
- Ability to embrace new technologies and drive operational efficiency

Pay
Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call duty. Expect 10–12 hour shifts with potential overtime.
Work Environment
- Variety of conditions, including extreme temperatures, loud areas, and confined spaces
- Lift up to 50 lbs (team lift for heavier loads)
- Physical tasks like standing, walking, climbing, bending, and squatting for extended periods
- Use of hand tools regularly
- Work at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts, with proper PPE
