Job Summary

I&E Maintenance Technician (Open) Position Description: The I&E Maintenance Technician is responsible for day-to-day maintenance and reliable operation of equipment, instrumentation, analyzers, and electrical systems in production plants, gas delivery systems, and liquid bulk systems. Responsibilities include calibrating and maintaining instrumentation, repairing PLCs, computers, single loop controllers, and operator interfaces; tuning P&ID control loops; calibrating and maintaining plant instrumentation; completing Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks; documenting work performed; troubleshooting plant control system issues; assisting in solving control system problems; assisting with instrumentation design; maintaining spare parts inventory; writing standard work orders; logging instrumentation and controls activities; maintaining test equipment calibration and associated records; maintaining I&E equipment records; directing and working closely with contractors; racking and out breakers and switchgear as necessary; providing assistance at other Air Liquide plants or customer sites as needed; reporting pipeline and plant abnormalities; reporting safety incidents and near misses; performing job functions in compliance with HSE standards; controlling costs to meet budget targets; demonstrating ability to follow directions from site operations manager; offering suggestions to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality; being on call and responding to plant sites within two hours as required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks & prioritize work
  • Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system
  • Ability to maintain, repair, and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, control valves, etc.
  • Basic understanding of the facility’s control system, with the ability to develop detailed understanding
  • Thorough knowledge of the operation and safety aspects of the MCC/switchgear
  • Basic understanding of the facility's process, with the ability to develop detailed understanding
  • Able to operate forklift and other machinery
  • Two-year technical degree preferred
  • Minimum 6 years I&E experience, plant environment preferred
