Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair and adjust plant critical equipment, such as motors, circuits, valves, and required analyzers.
- Calibrate instrument/analyzers to desired range using proper test equipment and calibration standards.
- Provide field instrumentation support for all process equipment.
- Develop work plans covering installation, calibration, inspection, and troubleshooting tasks, to minimize production impacts and enhance the reliability of the operation.
- Assist in maintaining instrumentation.
- Participation in incident investigation and corrective action development as a part of a continuous program improvement.
- Support other mechanics and operators.
- Repair, test, and calibrate control valves for proper operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair light circuits.
- Troubleshoot a complete loop from measuring element to final control, both electronic and pneumatic, element.
- Use PCs/mainframe computers to maintain records of calibrations, SPC charts, part ordering, etc.
- Communicate with co-workers, team leader, and other departments on status of projects and equipment (verbally and/or in writing).
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of five (5) years full-time practical experience in process instrumentation in petrochemical, refinery, pulp/paper or a related industry; OR
- A two (2) year Associates technical degree in Instrumentation, electronics, computer repair, process control, or other related technical field, OR
- Successful completion of the ISA Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Program or equivalent certification.
