About the role

The Hyperbaric Safety Director at Healogics is responsible for administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy, operating and maintaining hyperbaric chambers, and ensuring the safety of both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, educate, and orient patients about hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
  • Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider.
  • Maintain and operate hyperbaric chambers and related support systems.
  • Participate in safety programs and conduct safety drills.
  • Coordinate and approve hyperbaric chamber upgrades and repairs.
  • Develop and revise department policies and procedures.
  • Lead the hyperbaric safety program.
  • Document safety-related events and assist in reviewing them.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities Code).

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) or Certified Hyperbaric Specialist (CHS) certification.
  • Pre or post-hire completion of an approved HBO Safety course.
  • Pre or post-hire completion of an approved hyperbaric Medicine Introductory course.
  • Current healthcare professional certification or license as applicable in state of practice.
  • Two (2) or more years’ experience in healthcare.
  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.

Schedule

Primarily an indoor position with occasional patient care environment exposure. Exposure to hazards such as bloodborne pathogens, toxic chemicals, and flammable/explosive gases is possible.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $28.26-$37.39 Per Hour. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications: education, experience, geography as well as operational needs and other considerations permitted by law.
