Hydraulic Assembler

Starting wage: $23–$28/hour depending on experience.

About the role

Assemble and install components and subassemblies onto heavy equipment using methods such as drilling, tapping, punching, machining, wiring, low-voltage electrical, hydraulic plumbing (hard line and hose), and testing according to design specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform work in accordance with Company policy, procedure, and customer expectations; inspect and document all work.
• Maintain production pace and meet job deadlines.
• Keep the Lead informed of progress and immediately report any problems that could cause delays.
• Monitor and intervene in unsafe or non-compliant activities; report safety issues to the Lead.
• Review Job Master Work Authorizations, Drawings, Notes, and Change Orders to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area, including proper control of parts, materials, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate work with other personnel, including during shift changes.
• Work with the Lead and Quality Control to ensure timely inspections.
• Use time, tools, and materials efficiently and allocate labor and materials to the correct Job.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Lead.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent).
• Three years of practical experience in the assembly of heavy machinery or related disciplines, verified through employment history, training, certification, interview, or practical tests.
• Experience in hydraulics, hoses, fittings, and schematics.

Skills

• Ability to perform technical tasks using standard assembly tools, including wiring, plumbing, mechanical installation, and operational testing.
• Read, interpret, and follow drawings and blueprints.
• Perform calculations and solve practical problems related to heavy equipment assembly.
• Knowledge of methods, techniques, materials, and tools used in equipment assembly.
• Work flexibly and collaboratively with other disciplines (engineering, fabrication, stores, etc.).
• Adapt to changing work priorities.
