Hybrid Senior Android Mobile Software Developer

This role is a hybrid opportunity for candidates to work in-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from our Seattle, San Francisco, or Detroit offices and work remotely all other days. We can consider highly qualified candidates on a remote-only basis who reside outside of these three areas.

About the Role

You will design and implement complex, technical projects that enable Redfin's app developers to build and ship the top-rated real estate apps. Contribute to the long-term strategy of the Android platform, considering technical and product-level concerns. Collaborate with your teammates by reviewing code, writing documentation, refining best practices, and building maintainable and testable codebases. Work closely with our product and design teams to understand user and business needs. Drive the team forward in Android best practices and design principles, bringing in cutting-edge industry trends. Use and evangelize approved AI code generation tools to document, architect, and create code.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement complex, technical projects enabling app developers to build and ship top-rated real estate apps.
• Contribute to the long-term strategy of the Android platform, considering technical and product-level concerns.
• Collaborate with teammates through code reviews, documentation, and refining best practices.
• Work closely with product and design teams to understand user and business needs.
• Drive adoption of Android best practices and design principles, incorporating industry trends.
• Use and evangelize approved AI code generation tools for documentation, architecture, and code creation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of development experience with at least 3 years of Native Android experience.
• Practical experience building Android applications in Kotlin and Java.
• Solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals.
• Effective communication skills for collaborating across distances and experience levels.
• Passion for well-architected, clean, and well-written code.
• Curiosity about mobile CI/CD and cloud development technologies, such as Bitrise and Jenkins.
• Deep knowledge of at least one AI code generation tool, such as GitHub CoPilot, Anthropic Claude Code, Cursor, or similar.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $166,900.00–$203,900.00. The position may also be eligible for an annual bonus, incentives, and other employment-related benefits.

Schedule

• Hybrid: In-office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; remote all other days.
• This role may include participation in an on-call rotation to support production systems and ensure service reliability, including nights and weekends as needed.
