About the role

The Operations Medical Billing Associate supports the Medical Group Revenue Integrity team at Lifepoint Health, a nationwide revenue cycle management services provider. This position is hybrid, with days worked being Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm, and office hours at our Brentwood, TN location.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Revenue Cycle Services and resolve billing issues and denials requiring clinical expertise.
  • Daily mail correspondence.
  • Research, work, and resolve claim denials and rejections for assigned clients.
  • Assume ownership over assigned clients for charges, payments, and AR metrics and performance.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends for potential organizational impact.
  • Communicate trends and recommended resolutions to assigned clients.
  • Avoid billing inaccuracies and inefficiencies by collaborating with all departments.
  • Deliver timely reports to management and initiate issue resolution.
  • Affirm compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and laws.
  • Assist with other projects as directed by Operations leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years' experience in Healthcare, specifically Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management.
  • ICD10 and CPT Knowledge.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Teamwork and computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, Medical Billing Software Systems).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Thorough knowledge of ICD and CPT application, correct practices, and tools utilized within the healthcare industry, as well as audits.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to identify and resolve trends within workflow.
  • Athena experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Skills and Abilities

  • ICD10 and CPT Knowledge.

  • High-School Graduate or Equivalent.

  • Athena experience preferred.

Pay

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Days: Monday-Friday. 8am-5pm.
