HW Engineering Manager, Leo Hardware Development

About the role
We are seeking a hardware engineering manager to lead the design, implementation, and validation of complex space-grade hardware electronics targeted to payload antenna systems. As a leader, you will manage, develop, and grow your team while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver results. You will balance interpersonal management skills with technical acumen to drive innovation and execution.
Responsibilities

- Establish processes and mechanisms for efficient execution on priorities
- Execute hardware development processes for complex antenna systems
- Innovate on challenges unique to LEO satellite systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integrity and performance
- Lead and coordinate technical trades in areas such as PCB development, digital electronics, high-speed serial interfaces, reliability, and “design for X”
- Lead the team developing hardware for advanced antenna systems in space applications
Requirements
- Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- 7+ years of industrial experience, especially in board-level analog/digital design with large ASICs
- 3+ years of experience in a technical leading role and a management position
- 5+ years of experience in high-speed digital design, multi-gigabit SERDES, signal and power integrity
- 5+ years of experience using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters
- Experience with advanced CAD tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
- Experience with developing hardware for space applications
- Experience with the entire New Product Introduction (NPI) process
- Familiarity with analog electronic fundamentals (transistor circuits, op-amps, filters, etc.)
- Experience in design, implementation, bring-up, and debugging of hardware from prototypes to manufacturing
- Familiarity with power supply design
Pay
USA, CA, San Diego - $151,000.00 - $204,300.00 USD annually
