HVAC Trainee

About the role

Assist with preventive maintenance service of HVAC rental equipment. Help assemble HVAC packaged products, organize the shop, handle materials, and clean and prepare equipment for customer rentals. Support product packaging, unit assembly, and parts organization. Safely handle equipment, deliver compact units, and assist with setup. Follow lock-out tag-out procedures and demonstrate knowledge of safety practices for voltage up to 480 volts.

Responsibilities

• Clean equipment and filters, lubricate bearings, check belts for wear and tightness, and inspect coils for damage, dirt, and leaks.
• Use hand tools, power tools (band saw, chop saw, circular saw, saws-all, stationary grinder, hand grinder, drill, impact driver), and air tools safely.
• Exhibit accountability, attention to detail, friendliness, loyalty, reliability, and responsibility.
• Maintain safety awareness and correct conditions affecting employee safety.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• Enrollment in a recognized HVAC Tech school (preferred but not required).
• One to two years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or automotive fields (preferred but not required).
• One to two years of experience with hand tools, battery tools, and air tools.
• Basic computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or carry moderate weight (15-50 pounds).
• Sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, reach, and perform repetitive hand motions.
• Hear and speak; occasional travel within and outside the area.
• Prolonged and irregular work hours with frequent interruptions.
• Work environment may be quiet (office settings) or moderate to loud (other situations), with potential for constant or sudden loud noises.
