HVAC Technician - Multiple Hotel Properties (A&R Group)
SCOPE OF WORK
Under general supervision, the HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing heating, ventilating, air conditioning systems, and related environmental-control systems utilizing knowledge of heating and refrigeration theory, pipefitting, and structural layout.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs field activities associated with supporting the installation, maintenance and servicing of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems.
- Performs PTAC cleaning.
- Perform on-site preventative maintenance, routine repair and calibration after installation.
- Handle basic, non-complex products and/or problems, referring more complex problems to higher-level technicians.
- Uses experience and technical skills with preventive maintenance and system operations to determine service requirements.
- Advises manager of preventive maintenance inspections performed and corrective actions to be taken.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees.
- Follow safety guidelines and protocols at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Consistently strive for improvement in both team and self.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Licenses: Universal CFC Certification Required. Type I and Type II Environmental Protection Agency certification for refrigerant handling. State HVAC License Journeyman.
- Experience: Vocational or Technical HVAC / R certification and 2 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC / R and building controls OR 4 years' experience in mechanical maintenance or construction-related field for commercial HVAC / R and building controls or related field.
- Skills: Strong electrical trouble shooting skills to perform the following; connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and ventilation fans to starter panels and/or VFD's. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in standard office software programs and mobile electronic devices. Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and the application of loss control measures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to do physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks. Able to lift up to sixty (60) pounds. Capable of ascending ladders up to a height of thirty (30) feet. Regularly required to use oral communication skills; observe and interpret situations; learn and apply new information or skills; and interact with staff, other organizations and the public.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Able to stand or walk over 75% of the time.
- Working near moving mechanical parts.
- Working in high or precarious places may be required.
- Fumes or airborne particles may be present at worksites.
- Employees may work in outdoor conditions.
- Loud noises are typical for this job.
