HVAC Technician IV

About the role

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Technician IV to join our 2nd Shift team in Peoria, IL. Hours may vary based on business demand, and weekend hours may be scheduled to support our 24/7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the company's buildings, facilities and equipment in an operating and functional condition
• Perform refrigeration repairs, troubleshooting, and air handler maintenance and repairs
• Perform electrical repairs or installations, plumbing, welding, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal)
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair heating and ventilation equipment, pumps, fans, compressors, and other mechanical equipment as necessary
• Utilize strong mechanical and electrical skills to complete assignments
• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC control and operating systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
• Respond and provide service and feedback to the customer on all work orders while assuring compliance to codes, regulations and industry standards
• Recommend measures to improve maintenance methods and equipment performance
• Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist workers in solving work problems
• Safely perform functions of the position including following proper safety guidelines such as job hazard analysis and lockout/tagout procedures and wearing PPE as required
• Understand company policies and enforce safety regulations
• Coordinate work with outside contractors
• Assure code and building standards are met
• Serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or demonstrated equivalent
• 5 years of experience in area of specialization

Physical Requirements

• Regularly lift up to 50 lbs
• Regularly climb extension ladders, roof ladder, stepladders, and stairs at least 10 times during shift
• Bend/stoop, squat repetitive during shift
• Regularly kneel repetitive for shift
• Move in a 90-degree fashion on a repetitive basis for shift
• Stretch/reach on a repetitive basis for shift
• Walk extensively throughout the plant during shift
• Use a Company/Client approved utility knife
• Differentiate colors pertaining to wire color-coding
• Repetitive wrist movement for some tasks
• Interact with all clients in a professional and friendly manner despite periods of stress
• Use of aerial lifting equipment

Special Requirements

• Wear steel toe safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hard hats and other Personal Protective Equipment as needed
• Must be willing to work overtime when required
• May be required to work holidays and weekends
• Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
• Valid Driver's License may be required

• Ability to obtain a security access badge at our client's location

Pay

$35.00-$38.00 per hour
