HVAC Technician II - Facilities & Maintenance

Essential Duties

  • Performs all preventive maintenance on systems and maintains applicable log books
  • Conducts walk-through inspections; changes belts, filters, adjusts volume dampers, checks gauges, coils, drain lines, bleeds gas lines, resets compressors, check unit sensors, relocates ductwork and troubleshoots to locate sources and cause of malfunction
  • Aids with estimating parts, supplies, equipment and labor hours needed to complete assigned repairs and monitors computer for malfunction
  • Maintains quality of air, air flow and temperature at on and off-site facilities; adjusts valves to regulate temperature of lubrication oil and flow of water through system
  • Records gauge readings, repairs completed and time lost due to inoperative equipment. Maintains technical logs and records all relevant data as appropriate

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or technical certificate required as well as a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years’ experience with commercial industrial equipment or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Must be able to read, understand and interpret schematics, plans, diagrams and drawings
  • Must be safety conscious
  • Must be able to work as a team player to accomplish goals of the engineering department
  • Must be able to read and write English and be able to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers
  • Refrigerant recovery certification required

Work Environment

  • Faced-paced with excessive noise
  • May be exposed to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, second hand smoke and excessive noise
  • Must be able to work in high/precarious places, be near fiberglass insulation and electrical current
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, talk or hear; and taste or smell
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
