HVAC Technician

As a Facility Refrigeration technician supporting manufacturing and facility infrastructure at the Glasgow, DE Siemens Healthineers Site, you will be part of a team solving complex problems and maintaining equipment.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain refrigeration equipment including walk-ins, reach-ins, and ice machines according to plans, specifications, codes, and standards.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and diagnose malfunctioning systems and ancillary components such as refrigeration, ventilation, air compressors, air conditioners, boilers, heat pumps, wells, chillers, and environmental units.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on refrigeration systems and determine the need for repair or replacement of system components.
- Read and understand diagrams, blueprints, and schematics for mechanical systems, structural modifications, and HVAC controls.
- Fabricate and assemble small diameter copper piping, including soldering.
- Maintain records of work performed, materials used, and refrigerant logs in accordance with established procedures and federal law.
- Complete electronic logs and adhere to Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Work with vendors to specify and order necessary parts for jobs.
- Collaborate with and support external service suppliers as needed.
- Operate various electrical meters, testers, leak testing equipment, refrigeration gauges, pressure gauges, torches, recovery units, vacuum pumps, and related testing and repair devices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Universal CFC certification preferred.
- Preferred HVAC Journeyman License in Delaware or completion of a 4-year HVAC Apprenticeship.
- Trained in LOTO.
- Experience with Lean business systems and methodologies such as TPM, 5S, and Standard Work.
- 3-5 years experience working in commercial settings with commercial equipment.
- Familiarity with facilities ancillary equipment: Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Wells, Water Systems, Air Handlers, Commercial Refrigeration, and Cargocaires.
- Ability to work off-hours on-call support and occasional weekend overtime.
Physical & Work Environment
The role involves working across the Glasgow, Delaware site in various weather conditions, including hot, humid, cold, or rainy weather. You should be comfortable wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including gloves, glasses, hearing protection, and hardhats when required. Physical demands include standing, squatting, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
Pay
The Base Pay Range For This Position Is $71,180 - $97,878. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
