HVAC Technician

About the Role
Pearce is seeking Experienced HVAC Technicians to join our team for servicing and repairing commercial HVAC equipment on telecom shelters located on Cell Tower sites. This is a regional position best suited for individuals who are responsible, self-directed, highly motivated, willing to travel, and looking to learn and grow in the Telecom industry. Candidates should reside within 60 miles of the Pierre, South Dakota area.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining cooling systems – diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, or installing and replacing components of entire systems.
- Conducting performance checks and regular maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Performing additional maintenance or upgrades to out-of-season HVAC equipment.
- Responding to service calls in a timely manner, including emergency call-out services.
- Timely and accurate completion of daily work reports.
- Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Employee Handbook and insurance requirements.
- Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs.
Requirements
- Must be Level 2 or Universal EPA Certified (Required).
- 3+ years of experience with HVAC maintenance (commercial preferred).
- Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and electrical components including refrigeration systems is preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and by email.
- Must reside in the Pierre, South Dakota area.
- Must be available for after-hours and weekend call-outs on occasion.
- Extensive daily travel in an independent work structure; occasional overnights required (company pays all travel costs and provides per diem).
- Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
Physical/Work Environment
- Must comply with OSHA/FCC/FAA/EPA Standards.
- Driving to remote work sites as needed.
- Exposure to ambient temperatures while working outdoors.
- Lift and move equipment as needed (up to 50 pounds).
Pay
Base pay range: $30.00 - $38.00 hourly, depending on experience. Actual compensation is influenced by skill set, level of experience, and location. In addition to wages, employees may be eligible for performance and referral bonuses, production incentives, tool/equipment and fuel stipends, company vehicle, per diem, or other applicable compensation.
