HVAC Technician
About the role
Maintain and repair commercial and industrial heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Troubleshoot and repair industrial chillers; cooling towers; split, package, and rooftop direct expansion systems; central plant chilled/heated water and steam systems; water and air-cooled condensers; and all associated equipment.
Strong analytical skills in electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical controls, control software logic, direct digital control, and components. Maintain and repair control valves, dampers, V.A.V. boxes, linkages, actuators, compressors, cooling/heating coils, etc.
Install and maintain power and control circuits (voltages up to 500VAC), including conduit installation. Capable of soldering on refrigeration and air conditioning pipes/coils and certified in refrigerant reclaim and recovery.
This position may require other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities and may involve high-risk or hazardous operations, including working shifts beyond a standard workweek.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair HVAC/R systems in commercial and industrial settings
- Troubleshoot and repair industrial chillers, cooling towers, and various direct expansion systems
- Service central plant chilled/heated water and steam systems, including water and air-cooled condensers
- Analyze and repair electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical controls
- Maintain and repair control valves, dampers, V.A.V. boxes, linkages, actuators, compressors, and coils
- Install and maintain power and control circuits up to 500VAC, including conduit installation
- Perform soldering on refrigeration and air conditioning pipes/coils
- Handle refrigerant reclaim and recovery in compliance with certification requirements
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in installation and maintenance of industrial HVAC/R equipment
- Must pass a written assessment
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen (as applicable)
