About the role

CCI Mechanical, LLC (CCI-M) is hiring an HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role involves diagnosing system issues, performing routine maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety codes and regulations, and recommending energy-efficient solutions to clients. The position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering reliable, code-compliant, and cost-effective service.

This position will report to sites in Northwest Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Install HVAC systems, including heating units, air conditioning units, ducts, thermostats, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of HVAC systems by testing and inspecting equipment after installation.
  • Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficiency, safety, and optimal performance.
  • Clean or replace filters, check refrigerant levels, calibrate thermostats, and lubricate moving parts.
  • Inspect HVAC systems for signs of wear and tear, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system problems, including electrical issues, refrigerant leaks, or mechanical failures.
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as compressors, fans, pumps, or thermostats.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective repairs while minimizing downtime for the customer.
  • Advise customers on system upgrades and energy-efficient alternatives for improving system performance.
  • Install and configure energy-efficient HVAC systems and smart thermostats.
  • Ensure all work meets local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes and safety standards.
  • Maintain a safe work environment by following all safety protocols and wearing proper protective equipment.
  • Handle refrigerants and other hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety laws.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in commercial HVAC systems.
  • EPA Certification.
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical wiring, refrigeration cycles, and tools used in the trade.
  • Understanding and adherence to relevant building codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and find effective solutions quickly.
  • Precision in installation, maintenance, and repairs to ensure systems function efficiently and safely.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with customers and explain complex issues in simple terms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to measure and draw ductwork.

  • Ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients.
  • Maintain physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, climbing stairs, ladders, or staging.

  • Work outside in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, or other inclement weather.
  • Walk over rough and uneven surfaces.
  • Routine lifting of up to 35 pounds.
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times, including hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection.
  • Maintain a constant state of mental alertness.

Working Environment

  • Job is performed in outdoor settings, including walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife.
  • Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
