HVAC Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform daily preventive maintenance on HVAC and other equipment as needed.
• Complete PM checklists and close out work orders in CMMS, including uploading documents and photos to document work performed.
• Perform minor repairs on building equipment (e.g., faucets, flushometers, light bulbs).
• Coordinate with subcontractors for services outside our capabilities.
• Maintain excellent customer relations and interact with all levels of management.
• Carry out repair, maintenance, or installation of equipment for commercial HVAC systems.
• Perform inspection, maintenance, adjustment, and repair of equipment to ensure reliable indoor air comfort, laboratory, or critical environments.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies for air conditioning and refrigeration equipment.
• Ensure proper air circulation on air handlers by balancing airflow.
• Assess vendor specifications and proposals; supervise material purchases following customer procedures.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, plumbing, and electrical issues in HVAC equipment.
• Carry out regular plumbing and maintenance tasks as needed.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 5-7 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial HVAC systems.
• Ability to pass an extensive background check.
• Valid driver’s license and transportation.
• Ownership of basic tools required for maintenance tasks.
• Excellent attention to detail and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and interface with all levels of management.
• Strong time management, scheduling, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
• Knowledge of multiple HVAC systems (e.g., Mini-Splits, Rooftop Units, Air-Cooled Chillers).
• Good mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills related to HVAC equipment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Facility maintenance experience with the Department of Defense (DoD).

Benefits

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check. If applicable to the contract, you must obtain and maintain appropriate clearance levels and access to military installations.

Pay

$100,000 – $110,000 per year.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with some flexibility.

Work Environment

• Primarily performed in mechanical, electrical, and laboratory locations throughout the building.
• Physical demands include bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods.
• Requires maintaining a constant state of mental alertness and situational awareness.
