Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; Active Top-Secret SCI with Poly clearance highly preferred, or ability to obtain and maintain.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize HVAC equipment performance.
• Provide solutions to a wide range of problems using imaginative, thorough, and practical approaches within standard practice limits.
• Conduct periodic inspections of all Engineering systems and equipment, monitor operations, and maintain equipment logs.
• Mentor less experienced HVAC Technicians.
• Operate and maintain site-critical Engineering systems (e.g., heat, utility, conditioned water, ventilation, air conditioning) in accordance with diagrams, manuals, best practices, and manufacturer specifications.
• Monitor and control building equipment using the facility’s Building Automation System (BAS).
• Disable and re-arm fire alarm panels as required.
• Proficiently use test equipment and analyze results pertinent to building operating systems.
• Operate and maintain gas-fired steam boilers.
• Perform maintenance on Engineering systems, including chillers, IFUs, VAVs, HVAC controls, and fire/life safety sprinkler systems.
• Inspect and adjust mechanical equipment and systems; perform preventive maintenance and general upkeep while adhering to energy efficiency models.
• Record and report faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences.
• Respond to emergency situations and perform tasks necessary for occupant and property protection.
• Perform facilities or mission-critical environment maintenance activities with minimal supervision.
• Operate and maintain critical systems such as HVAC, CRAC units, life safety, building automation, and utility systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience working with complex HVAC systems and equipment, including chillers, boilers, package units, VAV systems (direct digital, pneumatic, and automated control systems).
• U.S. Citizenship required for access to classified information; Active Top-Secret SCI with Poly clearance highly preferred, or ability to obtain and maintain.

Qualifications

• Completion of an HVAC technical training program (vocational/technical school or recognized apprenticeship) is preferred.

Skills & Physical Abilities

• Ability to lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Physical strength and stamina for tasks such as loading/unloading, operating equipment, and transporting materials while following safety protocols.
• Ability to relocate a 12-foot stepladder without assistance.
• Work at heights up to 60 feet, including climbing and maintaining balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and ladders.
• Routine and repetitive physical activities such as walking, climbing, lifting, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and reaching overhead.
• Good vision (may be corrected), color vision, and ability to hear and communicate in English.
• Ability to use a standard ladder without exceeding weight limits while carrying tools.
