HVAC Technical Trainer or HVAC Instructor

About the role
The HVAC Technical Trainer is responsible for providing technical support as well as designing and conducting training & development programs to improve individual and organizational performance. The role determines training objectives and assesses technical needs through surveys, interviews with employees, and consultation with managers. Strong organizational skills and the ability to address and complete customer concerns and HVAC technicians' needs in a timely manner are required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver training programs focused on HVAC/R systems, equipment repair, and property maintenance.
- Create instructional materials that include schematics and technical documentation to enhance learning experiences.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions that allow participants to practice skills in real-world scenarios.
- Assess trainees' understanding of technical concepts through evaluations and feedback.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in HVAC technology to ensure training content is current.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and tailor programs accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant progress, and feedback for continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years HVAC Training & Development experience – REQUIRED
- Minimum 7 years HVAC Service experience – REQUIRED
- EPA Type II or Universal Certification – REQUIRED
- Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings related to HVAC equipment.
- Experience in equipment repair and property maintenance is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple training sessions effectively.
- A valid driver's license is required for travel between training locations and job sites.
- Ability to adapt training methods based on the audience's skill level and learning styles.
