Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and install plant mechanical systems in pulp and paper manufacturing industry
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment like conveyors and presses
- Read mechanical prints and diagrams (including HVAC systems)
- Perform installs, repairs and maintenance to a variety of equipment including: refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, hermetic compressors, commercial furnaces, boilers, burners, intake and exhaust fans, economizers, humidifiers, capacity controls, semi-hermetic compressors, split systems, flame safeguard controls, air compressors, air driers, and packaged units throughout the district
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Driver's License
- HVAC Certification required
- EPA Section 608 Universal Technician Certification
- 5+ years of supervisor experience
- 5+ years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Manage and continuous evaluation of maintenance program requirements and records
- Good customer and employee relations, and good leadership skills
- Critical thinking; predictive and preventative maintenance, finding root cause of failure
- Work positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems
- Excellent teamwork, cooperation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work alone, with a partner, or as a member of a team maintaining safety, quality & productivity
- Engage in preventative maintenance processes through facility
- Willingness to cross train and learn new skills in other technical areas to enhance capabilities
- Able to work with computer system for maintenance processes, stores and work order
- Meet physical demands as listed above
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed by the assigned location
- Ability to operate power tools and heavy equipment
