About the role

Johnson Controls Inc. is seeking skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the growth of its HVAC business in North America. The position offers opportunities to work on advanced equipment and collaborate with experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.
• Partner with journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and open-drive screw chillers.
• Provide solutions and recommendations to ensure facility efficiency, including upselling opportunities.
• Write and communicate quotes to customers and participate in JCI’s Service Plus Rewards program.
• Ensure facility operations are safe and compliant with environmental regulations.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Experience with rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, plumbing.
• Proficiency in mechanical shaft alignment and vibration analysis.
• Able to use various diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Universal EPA refrigerants license.
• Applicable state or local licensing.
• Valid driver's license.

Pay

The starting hourly rate is $36.00, which is determined by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) or rate sheet. The actual pay can vary based on experience and performance.
