We are looking for skilled HVAC Technicians with experience in air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs, or large rooftop ducted units, preferably in Industrial Petro-Chemical or Data Center environments. This role offers factory certification through our Service Technical Academy (STA) with recognition, monetary rewards, and advancement opportunities. Responsibilities
- Provide high-level service to solve facility inefficiencies and resolve service-related issues.
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering solutions and outcomes during commissioning and aftermarket service.
- Recommend and implement solutions to ensure facilities run efficiently, including upselling opportunities.
- Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.
- Repair centrifugal compressors, steam turbines, screw chillers, and ammonia/hydrocarbon system components.
- Maintain ammonia and hydrocarbon safety training certification.
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including chilled water loops, pumping, compressor enthalpy, and compressor rebuilds.
- Perform mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators, lasers, etc., on pumps, fans, and compressors.
- Use vibration equipment to troubleshoot compressor drivelines.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and repair large tonnage chiller 460 VAC VSDs.
- Pass a knowledge examination to assess proficiencies.
- Enroll in training programs to gain expertise in HVAC products and sales quoting.
- Work with local market mechanics and provide on-the-job training when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with customers, documenting problems, causes, and corrective actions.
- Provide quotes to customers and participate in Johnson Controls’ Service Plus Rewards program.
- Prioritize safety in all aspects of the role.
Requirements
- Minimum of eight (8) years of practical working experience on air-cooled and/or water-cooled chillers, industrial chillers, AHUs, or large rooftop ducted units.
- Strong HVAC/mechanical troubleshooting experience.
- Universal EPA refrigerant license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver’s license.
- Self-starter with a passion and desire to learn and apply on-the-job skills.
- Attention to detail through interpersonal, digital, and written communication skills.
Pay
$38.65 hourly rate, determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
