Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products.
- Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates.
- Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials.
- Train and instruct apprentices related to their on-the-job training requirements
- Communicate clearly and effectively with supervisor and crew members.
- Work independently and as a team member.
- Works with other trades to coordinate work on the job site.
- Keep trade licenses and certifications current.
- Attend all safety training provided and/or sponsored by NEMSI.
- Follow all NEMSI safety policies, procedures, and use personal protective equipment when performing installation and/or servicing HVAC systems.
- Interact with clients in a professional and courteous manner while maintaining a clean and neat appearance.
Qualifications
- Connecticut Sheet Metal 2 License
- 5 years of required experience with commercial HVAC systems
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent communication and written skills are a must.

- Talk, hear, smell and lift, set-up and climb ladders as well as stairways
- Regularly lift and /or move various weight ranges such as 0-50 lbs. frequently, 51-100 lbs. occasionally and 101 plus seldom
- Maintain a neat and clean appearance and utilize all protective equipment provided and as required.
